Pink has always been one of my absolute favorite colors so when I spotted the Majesty Peacoat at J.Crew I just about died and went to pink heaven!
Isn't she perfect? I have somewhat of an obsession with coats/jackets and boots. Really makes sense since I live at the beach! But really, what girl doesn't right? Who cares where you live..rock it out in what you love. Especially when it's this Pretty and Pink with perfect gold buttons. Waiting on that discount alert email from J.Crew then this beauty will be mine for Fall!
Picturing it like this…
~Over cute dresses~
~With laid back tops and jeans~
~To work over my tops and pencil skirts~
~With all kinds of shoes from my leopard print pumps to my favorite boots~
This coat really does it all! Loving my future fall coat…what's yours?
I have been on the hunt for the perfect work shoes for a while now. Being on my feet the majority of the day makes it tough because we know I must be in heels! Finding a shoe that's comfortable, cute and with height is just hard. Well…I finally found the perfect shoe.
Black
I found these Martina Wedges in Black at the J.Crew outlet for almost half off their retail price at $119. I promise you after I bought these, I wore them almost daily. They are that comfortable and go with everything! So…after seeing them on the J.Crew website in Nude, I knew had to have another pair!
Apricot Mist
Yes, I had to! And I'm so glad I did because these two pairs of shoes are now all I wear for work and my feet do not hurt at the end of the day. Woohoo! I recommend ordering a 1/2 size up as the patent leather makes them a little tight. Loving the patent leather though because they make these shoes extra durable and nobody is harder on their shoes than me:)
So these shoes are worth the $228 investment, let me tell you. And I am not a big spender on shoes like ever! All my shoes are from TJ Maxx and Marshalls but these I can justify. Anything that is super comfortable, stylish and gets a lot of mileage is fashion money well spent in my book.
And of course J.Crew had to make them in suede in all of these Fabulous Colors for Fall so we would have to have those too...
Jazzy Purple
Bluebird
Burnt Sienna
And My Absolute Favorite, go with everything, Leopard Print is on Sale for $188. Need to buy these Pronto!
According to People Magazine, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine who is a good friend of Blake's, performed at the reception which was held under a white tent on the plantation grounds. Blake's Mom and and Sister were also spotted at a local Charleston restaurant with Bette Midler earlier in the weekend.
Blake and Ryan were spotted in Charleston back in February of this year dining at a few of my favorite eateries including SNOB and Poogan's Porch. Blake is known for being a bit of a "foodie"..they do have great taste when it comes to southern cuisine.
They even hit up my favorite gelato joint, Belgian Gelato, on King Street.
I cannot wait to see pics from the big day as it is no secret on this blog that I've always admired Blake's sense of style and take on fashion. She is known for not having a stylist and picking out all of her own clothes which are always super feminine and glamorous, her makeup is usually something different and she isn't afraid of a statement lip, and her hair is always amazing but left looking undone which is the look I'm always trying to accomplish..she makes it look so easy:) I'm sure she was a Stunning Southern Bride.
And for those of you who have never been to Charleston and visited Boone Hall Plantation…here are some pics for you. It's such a gorgeous historic site and to this day the oldest working plantation in the US. They have a fresh market where they sell all their produce and goods. The old oak trees draped in Spanish moss lining the driveway will take your breath away. It was the perfect backdrop and a perfect day for such a gorgeous couple to get married.
A lot of couples choose to get married at the Cotton Dock overlooking the water and the marsh. My favorite view of Charleston.
I am reminded everyday how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful city with so much history. I admire Blake and Ryan for choosing Charleston as the backdrop on their special day when they could have chosen anywhere in the world to tie the knot. Something tells me we would be friends:) Best of luck to them!
The Sales Associate at Copper Penny said it best when he brought these Elizabeth and James beauties to my dressing room. He instructed me to try these on with everything because they go with everything and they are "Life Changing." I did not leave with one article of clothing I tried on which all was fabulous and included a selection of dresses by Winter Kate, Diane Von Furtenberg and Cynthia Vincent. Nope…I left with the "Life Changing" Elizabeth and James wedges. I will confess after wearing them only one time, that confident sales associate stands correct. Most comfortable shoes ever! And yes, they will go with everything this Fall. He advised me to wear them with dresses and tights that are opaque and opaque only as it would "Not be cute to show my little toesies." He's so right. I will be wearing these versatile wedges with all my fall dresses, tights, scarves and jackets. Can't Wait!
Have I convinced you how much you need these yet? If you see full potential but can't do the price, no worries, I've found a super close second by one of my favorite shoe designers! These are just as fabulous at an amazing price.
I take inspiration from beauties like Brigitte Bardot, Nicole Richie and Lauren Conrad.
Perfecting the Classic Cat Eye can become quite easy with patience and practice. The best video tutorial I have seen comes from Lauren Conrad herself via The Beauty Department which is the amazing website her makeup artist and hair stylist created (my fave!!).

~My Must Have Tools~
First prime your eye with the best eye primer ever by Urban Decay. It goes on first under any eyeshadow you use. A little goes a long way so just a tiny dab blended in works great. I like to wear it alone and just put a little face powder on top. This gives you the "Lauren Conrad" bare eye look and your eyeshadow will not budge all day, I promise.
Now make sure you put some concealer/highlighter under your eyes to brighten up your eyes. Notice how it's real bright under Nicole and Lauren's eyes. This gives your eyes lift and eliminates any dark circles. I am obsessed with L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer. It's a replica of the ultra luxe YSL Touche Eclat.
Hands down the best liquid, gel, pencil, everything and above liner is Lancome Artliner. Trust me, I've tried everything out there from Bobbi Brown Gel Liner to Laura Mercier Flat Line. Everything claims to be waterproof and last all day and nothing has lived up to it's expectations until I tried this amazing liquid liner pen from Lancome. This is coming from the girl with the oiliest lids on the planet. It lasts all day long! (really hoping this oily lid problem means I won't have many wrinkles around my eyes one day:)
Now it's time to line. I like to pull my skin tight on the outside of the outer corner of my eye then start to line at the inner corner of your lid and drag the liner along your lash line to the outer corner. At that outer corner wing the liner up towards the outside of your brow. You can then make the line more dramatic like Lauren and fill in the space underneath the winged out part back to your lash line with light brush strokes. Just dab eye makeup remover on a q-tip to fix any mistakes.
I always finish my look with an eyelash curler and lots of coats of my favorite cheapie mascara by L'Oreal. I have people ask me all the time if I have on fake lashes and my girlfriend who wears it gets the same question! This mascara is that amazing. Oh and don't buy waterproof. It will damage your lashes and they will fall out and not grow. Not kidding. Only wear waterproof mascara if you are going to be swimming and going under water, that's it! Remember, I am a self-confessed mascara junkie:)
Okay, Now everyone embrace your inner vixen and try a little Cat Eye. Maybe this isn't your everyday look but could be fun for a night out. And don't get frustrated, keep practicing and you will get it!
